Our Featured Speaker
Jamal Issa has served as a volunteer Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) since 2024.
He brings a strong commitment to equity, clarity, and child-centered advocacy into complex family law cases. In this role, Jamal works closely with children and families to gather balanced, thoughtful information so court decisions reflect children’s real experiences and long-term needs.
Jamal is a senior majoring in Law, Societies, and Justice at the University of Washington.
He is trilingual in English, Amharic, and Oromo. In every case he has worked on, at least one parent has faced language barriers. Jamal uses his language skills to communicate directly with families, reduce misunderstandings, and make space for parents’ voices within the legal process. This strengthens participation and builds trust in systems that are often difficult to navigate.
Jamal’s advocacy is rooted in the belief that the right support at the right moment can shape a child’s future. Through his work with Family Law CASA, he is committed to outcomes grounded in fairness, stability, and opportunity. His goal is simple and profound: to help children move forward with greater security and hope.
Is This a Fundraiser?
Yes, the 2026 Together for Tomorrow Luncheon is a community-centered fundraiser. Every dollar raised helps Family Law CASA close the access to justice gap for children and their families navigating family court.
Guests will be invited to make a gift at end of the program. The minimum suggested donation is $150, or a monthly gift of $15.
You will be able to give in several ways including online, check and through your donor-advised fund (DAF). Checks payable to Family Law CASA.
