Introduction
Family Law CASA of King County proudly announces receiving a $233,000 grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, a foundation well-known for serving the diverse needs of Pacific Northwest communities. This generous support will fund a new full-time Donor Relations Officer position, bolstering the growth of Family Law CASA’s fundraising team. With this strategic investment, the organization can enhance its long-term financial stability and continue addressing the evolving needs of children and families throughout King County.
Strategic Funding Model Supports Growth & New Staffing
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust’s $233,000 grant is a capacity-building award designed to strengthen Family Law CASA’s fundraising efforts. Over the next three years, the grant will fully cover the salary and benefits of the Donor Relations Officer on a declining basis. This model enables Family Law CASA to meet its immediate staffing needs while gradually increasing its fundraising capacity to sustain the role independently.
Importantly, this grant marks the start of an exciting partnership with the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. Based in Vancouver, WA, the Trust has a long history of investing in organizations that support Pacific Northwest communities. Since 1975, it has contributed more than $1.4 billion to nonprofits.
Deepening Our Community Impact with Navigation Services
The expanded fundraising capacity from this grant will allow Family Law CASA to introduce new navigation services. These services will promote long-term stability and improve access to culturally responsive resources for families. Offered after family law cases close, navigation services will be optional, empowering families to choose support that fits their needs.
In the coming months, the Family Law CASA team will develop a detailed implementation plan, including a launch date for this program expansion. By expanding these services, the organization aims to deepen its impact in the community and provide ongoing support beyond court advocacy.
“We are deeply grateful to the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust for their generous support. This grant represents an investment in our future, helping us build a sustainable foundation to meet the growing needs of children and families in King County. With a Donor Relations Officer onboard, we can strengthen critical programs and advocacy efforts for years to come,” said Deidre McCormack Martin, Executive Director of Family Law CASA.
